Employment Requirements
Fundamentally, you need to prove that your disabling condition prohibits you from your ability to work your previous job as well as ANY job in the entire United States that you would have qualified for just before your disabling condition.

Also, depending on your age, you’ll need to have worked jobs that paid into social security for some length of time. Depending on your age, there are a certain number of quarters you’ll need to have paid into social security to be eligible for SSD. If you become disabled at 48, you’ll need to have paid in for 6.5 years, for example.
